Night of Champions, Dean Ambrose return, Brock Lesnar schedule,

  • Because of the fact that SummerSlam was such a critical success, a widely praised show by both fans and pundits alike, WWE is apparently working with the idea of making Night of Champions look largely the same with a few necessary tweaks. The card, as of now, looks like this, though this is obviously not official:
    Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena
    Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton
    Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella
    Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt
    Sheamus vs. Cesaro
    AJ Lee vs. Paige
    Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz
The Usos vs. Stardust & Goldust
    Rusev vs. Mark Henry
  • An idea that has apparently been discussed is Seth Rollins getting heavily involved in the feud between Orton and Reigns, possibly even booking a 2-on-1 handicap match. He would get run over during the match before Dean Ambrose would make his return at the PPV, run off Rollins, and Reigns would make his comeback to beat Orton.
  • Remember the original idea for Roman Reigns vs. Triple H? That's been pushed back to the point that it's not something they're thinking about doing until possibly Survivor Series.
  • The Wrestling Observer has reported that despite Brock Lesnar being advertised for theSmackDown taping on Tues., Oct. 21, WWE is completely unaware of it and there must be communication issues between talent relations and advertising. So it's entirely possible Lesnar isn't actually booked for that show, which would be the go home show to Hell in a Cell. For whatever it's worth, the video advertising as much remains available for viewing.
  • Regarding Jake Roberts, it's now being said that he didn't actually pass out on his flight to Las Vegas, but that was bad information passed around by DDP on an assumption. The latest update appears to be that there is a belief the mass found on his brain is related to his years of wrestling. Not sure what that means regarding his future, but there you go. Everyone at Cageside Seats continues to wish him all the best.
