CM Punk is much more than just a WWE superstar. As we know, he is a soon to be retired wrestler this week when his WWE contract runs out, but CM Punk has so much more to him than his wrestler name suggests.
The majority of WWE fans miss CM Punk because of his unique style and character. He was the Indie darling for WWE fans across the globe, and it seems that his uniqueness includes his music taste outside of the ring too. The music world was dealt a blow on July 11, 2014, when it was announced that Tommy Ramone had passed away. Tommy was an integral part of the band called the Ramones for four years.
The record producer and musician died while he was in hospice care due to his struggles with bile duct cancer, and CM Punk provided his own unique tribute to the rock n roll star. It's clear that CM Punk was affected by the death of Tommy Ramone, as he went further with his tributes to the dead rock n roll star with this retweet.
"The Ramones are not an oldies group, they are not a glitter group, they don't play boogie music and they don't play the blues," the bio that CM Punk retweeted reads.
"The Ramones are an original Rock and Roll group of 1975, and their songs are brief, to the point and every one a potential hit single."
CM Punk has plans beyond his WWE career, which is set to end this week according to reports. It's believed that WWE will not renew his wrestling contract, and Punk hinted at what he might be doing in his retirement on Twitter this week.
