As of this post going live, there still isn't much known about the Alberto Del Rio situation with WWE. Some rumors can be read here, and that's the wide story going around, that he slapped a WWE employee, possibly a reporter, and was fired for it.- For the rumors going around that this is a work, it is absolutely not that. Del Rio is apparently under a 90 day no-compete clause, which means he'll have to wait three months to sign anywhere, but there is already big interest in him from other promotions, including, according to the Observer, AAA and TNA. AAA makes the most sense.
- Although he was back in the States and at Monday Night Raw and available for bothMain Event and Friday Night SmackDown this week, Sheamus was only used onSuperstars. The reason? They aren't sure what to do with him right now, which would seem to indicate the title unification match with The Miz (Intercontinental champion) and Dolph Ziggler (who it has been announced will work with Miz atSummerSlam) may not be happening as previous rumors have suggested a possibility. Mind you, this is the United States champion and they apparently have nothing for him right now. Amazing.
- Here's an interesting rumor, though I'll come right out and say I hardly believe it but hey, this is the Rumor Roundup, so here you go: The reason they chose a Lumberjack match for the Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins match is because they wanted to swerve fans who thought they had it figured out. Yeah.
- The panic that existed within TNA recently was calmed by Dixie Carter holding a meeting with employees at the most recent tapings. Nothing new was announced, however, outside of the fact that they will return to New York in September for more tapings. However, it's been said that Kevin Kay, President at Spike TV, was at last night's Impact tapings. That may be a good sign, or at least signals that the two sides are, in fact, still negotiating.
