It appears as if Triple H might not be the first person that Sting steps into the ring with during his WWE tenure. Ever since Sting made his WWE debut back at Survivor Series, there has been a lot of speculation as to who he might step into the ring with first. Of course, given the circumstances surrounding his debut back in November, it’s easy to assume that his first opponent will be Triple H.
Well, that might be wrong. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, there have been discussions backstage about having Sting face off against Seth Rollins, another person that he affected with his debut at Survivor Series. As you’ll remember, Sting draped Dolph Ziggler over Rollins for the win and to put the Authority out of power.
From a development standpoint, this would be a huge move. Some might not like it, but Rollins could only benefit from this, and Sting as well. In a match with the young, athletic opponent, Rollins could do most of the work in the match and make Sting’s debut in a WWE ring a pretty memorable one.
Whether or not this comes to fruition remains to be seen. But, again, this would be a solid move for everyone involved, whenever it would happen.
