TNA announces their debut date

tna new logoTNA is preparing for its move to Destination America and with it, the company is making some changes. One of them was revealed yesterday by TNA President Dixie who revealed their new logo for Impact Wrestling.
The promotion along with Destination America have also announced when the debut for Impact Wrestling will take place on the network as well as its regular night and time.

Impact Wrestling will debut with a live special on Wednesday, Jan. 7 on Destination America from 9-11PM ET that will feature current champion Bobby Roode against the man he beat for the title Bobby Lashley. Then the show will shift over to its regular slot on Friday nights from 9-11PM ET starting on Jan. 16.

It's a curious move that the show will be on Fridays which is one of the worst nights of the week for television. The good news is that WWE Smackdown is moving off that night to Thursdays the same week so they won't have to go head-to-head against it. TNA was in a tough spot trying to find a new television home after Spike decided not to keep them so they should probably just be happy they are on TV in the United States.

“We’ve been listening to what fans have to say and, with their feedback in mind, IMPACT WRESTLING’s live debut on Destination America will be nonstop, in-your-face action with no filters, big personalities, and epic battles,” said Marc Etkind, general manager of Destination America. “Wrestling is a national pastime that combines dynamic entertainment with intense crowds, and we can’t wait for IMPACT WRESTLING’s passionate fans to bring their ‘fandemonium’ to Destination America in January!”

“A week after the ball drops in New York City, fists will fly as IMPACT WRESTLING begins a new era with our LIVE debut on Destination America,” said TNA President Dixie Carter. “IMPACT WRESTLING will be the most compelling two hours of wrestling on television.”
