The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the Night of Champions show set to take place on Sun., Sept. 21, 2014, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. This is the eighth annual event in the chronology of the gimmick show that features every title in the promotion being put up for grabs
We're two weeks out from showtime and four matches are official for the show.
- Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena (WWE world heavyweight championship)
The rematch from SummerSlam was made official just days after Lesnar won the title in what amounted to a squash match. The story in the meantime has centered on Cena getting redemption after such a crossing loss. Naturally, he's been booked incredibly strong in the meantime.
- Sheamus vs. Cesaro (U.S. championship)
The long forgotten mid-card title is back with the long forgotten mid-card babyface battling the long forgotten mid-card heel.
- Paige vs. AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella (Divas championship)
Stephanie McMahon announced that Nikki would be granted a title shot on Raw this past Monday and she was inserted into a triple threat match that was made official on SmackDown.
- Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz (Intercontinental championship)
Although Miz already got his rematch, they never bothered to cultivate any other storyline. That's fine, seeing as Miz is in the midst of doing his best work as a Hollywood heel with his own stunt double, Damien Mizdow.
- The Usos vs. Stardust & Goldust (Tag team championship)
The cosmic key is within reach.
- Mark Henry vs. Rusev
The former Olympian is the latest defender of Lady Liberty against the evil Russian sympathizers.
