WWE WrestleMania 31 Match Card and Predictions

wrestlemania 31With five weeks until WWE WrestleMania 31, it looks like we now know what the main matches for the event will be. There are no major surprises -- especially following the WWE Fast Lane event -- and everything looks to finally be on track for the biggest show of the year on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.
Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
This match became official at Fast Lane with Reigns defeating Daniel Bryan to become the #1 contender. Mind you, he was already the #1 contender by way of winning the Royal Rumble in January but the fans hated that decision which made the WWE take a step back and think it through. In the end, they're sticking with their guns and putting Reigns in the top match against Lesnar.

Reigns continues to get better in the ring but this will be a huge test for him, especially with it being so early in his career on this huge stage. Paul Heyman will take care of the talking leading up to the match and building it into a frenzy. The one thing to look out for is how many fans are still upset that Reigns got the spot rather than Bryan and if they will instead get behind the heel Lesnar rather than supporting Reigns.

Bray Wyatt vs. The Undertaker
Another match that was officially announced at Fast Lane on Sunday night. That has been expected with Wyatt giving crypted promos over the past few weeks and it became obvious he was talking about the Dead Man.

Many were wondering if The Undertaker would return for WrestleMania considering how banged up he looked last year when the streak was ended by Brock Lesnar along with other pictures that were turning up on the Internet. But this recent video of him and his wife Michelle McCool show him looking pretty good for WrestleMania season.

Even though the streak is over, my guess is that plenty of people will be psyched to see The Undertaker again. I'll bet this won't be his final match either as the Texan could easily wrap up his legendary career at WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas to try and pack 100,000 fans in the building that night. Maybe a rematch against Lesnar?
WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS
Sting vs. Triple H
At long last, Sting is finally going to have a match for the WWE. This has been years in the making and for a while there it was looking like it may never happen.
The longtime rumor had been Sting squaring off against The Undertaker at WrestleMania when the day came that Sting would finally join the company. While he openly asked for that match, he will give a good consolation prize by going up against The Game. Nothing against Taker but at this stage in their careers, Triple H will probably have a better match against Sting who is over 50 but in great shape. Plus, the storyline of him representing WCW makes more sense going against Triple H although a legends match against Taker would have been intriguing. The match may not be stellar but the buildup of a match between the two legends would have been cool.
Rusev vs. John Cena for the United States Championship
Rusev just got a win against Cena at Fast Lane with his manager Lana getting involved so you can bet Cena is hot for revenge. I hope WWE play up the rhetoric leading up to the rematch with a Russian holding the U.S. Championship and the All-American Cena being just the guy to take it off him.
Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins
Orton finally returned at Fast Lane after being out for several months and immediately went after Rollins. Both are very good in the ring and I'd expect to see a fantastic match between them. Don't be surprised if Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show" is in Orton's corner at WrestleMania 31 since he and Rollins have been going back and forth online lately. Stewart is a huge wrestling fan and the WWE would get some free publicity from entertainment outlets having him on the show.
Wade Barrett vs. Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship
The two of them just squared off at Fast Lane and weren't given much time as well as a sloppy disqualification finish. I expect something much better from them here if this match happens. Then again, the WWE could just throw them into the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal but that seems like a big waste for them.
Goldust vs. Stardust
Yep, another rematch from Fast Lane in what turned out to be a disappointing bout between the brothers. The story of that match was Goldust not wanting to hurt his sibling but things should get a lot more serious here and safety thrown out the window. Depending on the fan reaction, this could take place on the pre-show at WrestleMania rather than making it to the main portion.
Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan
Even though this match has already happened twice at WrestleMania, it looks like WWE wants to do it again. In fact, it was supposed to happen last year before CM Punk quit and the WWE shaking up the card. Bryan has nothing else planned since he won't be in the main event and a rumored match against Dolph Ziggler -- despite how exciting it could be -- doesn't make much sense. Sheamus is set to return after being sidelined for three months with some type of injury and could finally turn heel which has been talked about for months.
