There was a lot of Battleground coverage this week, which is to be expected when we are just days away from the pay-per-view.
Two of the matches on the card featured six men who will be competing in the Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal on Sunday, and the other featured Cameron taking on Emma while Naomi watched from the commentary table.
MizTV
The show opened with a MizTV segment. He read out an announcement he had prepared that was very self-congratulatory. He basically said that he would be leaving Cleveland for Hollywood.
Instead of his usual catchphrase, he said "I'm the Miz, and I'm a star." It got a good amount of heat from the crowd, which is a good sign forMiz's heel run.
Sheamus came out and gave one of his trademark juvenile insults before turning serious and talking about winning the IC title on Sunday.
Sheamus tried to hit a Brogue Kick, but Miz got out of dodge just in time. It was a solid opening segment that hyped the match between them well.
Emma vs. Cameron
Emma picked up a quick win, but Cameron was the aggressor for most of the match. She is a fully turned heel now, and this was her chance to show the other side of her character.
While the wrestling was average, Cameron's performance really stood out. She knows how to get heat from the crowd, and she knows what parts of her personality to accentuate to get the boos she needs.
Attacking Emma after the match certainly helped push her new bad attitude. The match was a throwaway, but watching Cameron perform the way she did made it watchable.
Winner: Emma
Big E and Kofi Kingston vs. Rybaxel
This was a good solid tag match. All four men did their part, and it made for a good filler match before the main event. There was no feud involved other than the fact that all four men will be in the Battle Royal on Sunday.
Sometimes it's nice to take a break from all the different programsWWE has running and just watch four guys have a good match.
Kofi did all his usual high-flying stuff while Big E and Ryback hit their big power moves, and Curtis Axel did a good job complementingRyback's aggression.
This was a lot of fun and a great use of talent.
Winners: Kofi and Big E
Sheamus vs. Miz
For the first time in a very long time, Sheamus won a match without using The Brogue Kick. Miz was so worried about being kicked in the face that he left himself wide open for a roll up.
This was a good match that highlighted both men's stronger attributes. It wasn't an instant classic, but it was certainly good enough to headline Main Event.
Winner: Sheamus
