Bellator returned to California tonight with a main event featuring Brandon Halsey and Kendall Grove. The bout was supposed to be for Halsey's middleweight title, but he was stripped of the belt for missing weight. Grove had an opportunity to win the belt, but it was not to be. Here's how it went down.

Brandon Halsey defeated Kendall Grove by TKO (strikes), 2:25 of round 4
Grove was totally dominated by the former champ, almost getting finished in the first and being controlled until the bout was mercifully stopped in the fourth. Halsey immediately took Grove down and secured an arm-triangle choke, but Grove was able to fight it off. He probably lost the first by a 10-8 score though. The second and third saw Halsey control with his wrestling. He came out in the fourth and rocked Grove with two hard shots before getting the takedown and eventually GnPing his way to victory. He won the bout, but the belt is still vacant.
Eduardo Dantas defeats Mike Richman by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Dantas started strong and worked a takedown game for most of the first round. It wasn't all that entertaining, but it was effective. Richman took over in the second by stuffing his shots and touching him up a bit. A cut was opened over Dantas' eye, and that got a lot bigger in the third. But once again, Dantas controlled Richman on the mat long enough to take the round and the fight.
Fernando Gonzalez defeats Curtis Millender by submission (guillotine choke), 1:00 of round 3
Millender was much bigger than Gonzalez, but wasn't always able to control the distance all that well. He was using a jab and oblique kick to keep Gonzalez at bay sometimes, but was getting caught with winging left hooks and got tied up a bit as well. The first round was close, with the Millender winning the second. Gonzalez iced it in the third though, regaining a guillotine after initially giving up on it and getting the submission victory. The W was his fourth straight in Bellator.
Darrion Caldwell defeats Rafael Silva by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Not a lot happened to be honest. Caldwell controlled the distance well and didn't let Silva engage on the feet. He spent a lot of the time in top control, not doing a lot but getting the job done. Silva had a few chances at heel hooks but never put the wrestler in serious danger. I personally thought Caldwell easily won all three rounds.
