Sheamus is one of the most talented big men in WWE today, but after returning with a new heel persona and taking the loss to Dolph Ziggler, it’s clear the former world champion needs a clean victory at the 2015 edition of Payback.Even as a fan of Ziggler, proper booking says Sheamus should go over at the next pay-per-view.
While the majority of the WWE Universe hated the Kiss Me Arse match that took place at Extreme Rules, it did achieve the desired effect of giving Ziggler a win while still giving Sheamus heat when he didn’t follow the stipulation he asked for at the PPV.At Payback, Sheamus winning would anger the crowds, building the heat he needs as a top heel while still adding even more sympathy for The Showoff.
At the root of the situation, Sheamus needs a victory. As a heel, building credibility is key, and he took a loss in his return match. There is no way the WWE can justify a defeat from a storyline perspective or through the lens of common sense.
One possibility that could come to fruition when he ultimately wins the feud against Ziggler will be to replace Kane in The Authority. If this is a possibility WWE Creative will explore—which would be the best use of the aggressive big man—then he must be booked as one of the most unstoppable forces in the company.
Think Rusev during his one-year unpinned or submitted streak.
The problem is that WWE lacks elite heels right now due to the fact that both WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins and Rusev(arguably the No. 1 and No. 2 active heels on the roster) have been made to look like jobbers at times.

Booking Sheamus strong is a necessity for a company needing legitimate bad guys and would give WWE plenty of choices for future feuds. Add in the fact that WWEshould be looking to pull out all the stops with Payback due to the poor performance of Extreme Rules, and Sheamus could be one of the show’s biggest X-factors. Giving Sheamus and Ziggler a stipulation the fans can get behind would amplify the stakes in the match and add intrigue to the PPV. After turning wrestling fans away with the April show, Sheamus should help WWE move forward.
