UFC 188 results We got the UFC 188 live results for our readers .The card, which features a main event between heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez (13-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) and interim titleholder Fabricio Werdum (19-5-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC), takes place at Mexico City Arena in Mexico City

 Gabriel Benitez (18-4 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Clay Collard (14-6 MMA, 1-2 UFC)

Round 1 – Collard rushes forward but is dropped by a left. He crawls back up, but Benitez kicks him in the body. Crowd chanting for Benitez. Quick action to start. Collard looking to be aggressive, but Benitez countering well. Collard kicks the legs. He’s moving in and out of range, but Benitez is measuring it well, scoring with straight lefts when his opponent rushes in. Benitez scores with a big kick to the body. Collard taking some damage. He unleashes a flurry of punches and then moves into the clinch, where he scores with a knee to the groin. Referee Mario Yamasaki stops the action to give Benitez a rest. Both men busy again on the restart. Low kick landing for Benitez. Collard drives in for a takedown, but Benitez latches on to a guillotine and jumps to guard. He can’t pull Collard down, and he eventually pops his head free. As Benitez tries to rise, Collard skirts around to his back. Both hooks in for Collard. Benitez looking to fight off the choke. Eventually, he gets some space and drives in elbows to Collard’s head. Benitez turns inside and works to his feet. Collard stays tight to the body. Collard with a big suplex to the floor, but he can’t control the position. Benitez scrambles up and lands a few shots to the body at the bell. We gives the first to Benitez, 10-9.
Round 2 – Collard again moving side to side. Benitez with a left to the body. Benitez using powerful low kicks, as well. Collard misses on a spinning kick. Collard moving forward, but Benitez continues to counter. Collard’s legs and torso are reddened from Benitez’s work. Benitez low kick buckles Collard’s knee. Another low kick lands flush, and Collard seems hurt. He can’t take many more of those. Collard drives forward and scores a takedown, but Benitez crawls up to his feet. Benitez looking to ends this on the feet, but Collard scores another takedown. Benitez gets quickly to his feet, and Collard looks exhausted. Blood is running down his nose. Collard is on fumes. Left to the body for Benitez. Collard tries to taunt and brawl, but Benitez just picking him apart. Benitez continues to chop the legs. One minute left. Another big left to the body. Collard showing heart, but Benitez is just punishing him. Collard trying to land something special, but this round ends. We gives it to Benitez, 10-9.
Round 3 – Touch of gloves to start the final round. Collard still looking to move forward and make something happen. He’s firing wide, sweeping shots. Benitez again lands to the knee and buckles his opponent’s leg. Just chopping away. Collard doesn’t have much steam left on his punches, but he’s throwing overhands. Benitez again counters to the body. Collard is desperate, and he’s exhausted. He catches a kick to the body and tries desperately to get the takedown. Instead, Benitez pulls away and scoots around to his kneeling opponent’s back. Collard turns over to get his back to the floor and tries to hang on. Benitez just backs away, and Collard has to rise. Collard throwing hands, but he’s done. Still, he walks forward and does get a takedown. Benitez easily gets to his feet, and Collard can’t do anything with the position. Collard does pull Benitez to the floor, and he postures up to land a few punches. One minute left, and Collard does get to back control as both men are seated. Crowd doesn’t like it, as Collard not doing a ton from the position. Benitez with a few elbows, and he celebrates before the bell. We gives him the final round, 10-9, and awards Benitez the fight, 30-27.

Augusto Montano (15-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) vs. Cathal Pendred (17-2-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC)

Round 1 – Montano moving laterally as Pendred takes the center. Pendred kicks the leg. Montano rushes forward with punches, but Pendred easily steps aside. Pendred short on a takedown, and he has a kick blocked. Pendred moves forward and looks for a takedown. Montano defends against the fence, and Pendred eventually backs away. Montano looking to attack, but Pendred kicks him in the leg. Not a lot of action early. Pendred misses a big spinning kick. Montano with a side kick to the body. Pendred drops his hands, wanting Montano to engage. Montano scores with a grazing front kick to the face. Montano moving a lot on the outside, but there’s just not much offense. Pendred pulls back on a spinning attack. Crowd not liking it. Pendred chasing Montano, but Montano not offering a lot. Pendred lands, and Montano staggers to the floor but quickly gets back to his feet. Pendred stands in the center with his arms wide open. Montano circles on the outside. Montano with a leaping knee, but Pendred pushes him to the fence. Round ends there, and We gives it to Pendred, 10-9.
Round 2 – Both men appear to want to step up the pace. Low kicks are traded. Pendred giving chase, and he walks into a big right hand that drops him. He crawls immediately up to his feet and shoots inside. He presses Montano to the cage. Pendred wants this takedown. Montano defending well, but Pendred eventually pushes him to the floor. Montano tries to turn for a kimura, but he lets it go. Pendred controls the neck, but can’t work in a choke. Montano eventually crawls up to his feet, but Pendred stays tight to the body. He drags Montano to the floor again, but he pops back up. Montano still not getting and space, and Pendred drags him down again. Pendred controlling the head and trying to set up the choke. Montano in a bad spot, but he wiggles free. Still, that leaves Pendred on top. Less than a minute. Montano on his knees, but Pendred controlling from the back. Montano eventually scrambles up, but he has not room to work. Round ends there, and We gives it to Pendred, 10-9.
Round 3 – Montano misses a side kick. Pendred looks for a takedown, but Montano stops him and scores with a knee to the body. Pendred backs away and shoots again, this time driving Montano to the fence. Montano defending well and knees to the body before Pendred backs away. Pendred continues to push forward. Montano doing a good job of staying upright, and he scores with a few short punches and elbows. Montano turns to set up a kimura, but it’s not there. Pendred pulls away, and Montano fires a combination on the break. Two minutes left. Pendred kicks the legs. Montano walking forward, but he’s just not mounting much of an attack. High kick misses. Crowd begging for action. Pendred again drops his hands in the center. Pendred shoots, and Montano slips, but he gets back to his feet. Light flurry at the bell. Crowd boos when it’s over. We gives the final round to Montano, 10-9, but gives Pendred the fight, 29-28.

Johnny Case (21-4 MMA, 3-0 UFC) vs. Francisco Trevino (12-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC)

Round 1 – Trevino kicks the legs to start, as Case looks to throw hands. Quick punches early from Case. He grabs a Trevino kicks and then counters to the body. Trevino covers against the cage before slipping out to the center. Case the aggressor early. He scores with a left and a kick to the body. Case using his range well, and he kicks the legs. Trevino retreating early. He is scoring occasionally to the legs. Case working the body quite a bit. Case does get caught with a right hand, but is answering with plenty of his own offense. Case with two big right hands. Trevino content to back up to the fence, and Case happy to chase and attack. Case moving forward, but he leaps back and complains of an eye poke. Referee John McCarthy calls time and brings in a doctor to take a look. Case continues to squint. It looks like we’re going to fight on, but Case is definitely having problems with the left eye. Trevino kicks the legs on the restart, and Case moves forward and pushes him to the floor. Short elbows from Case. Trevino trying to prevent a pass, but Case is able to move to a guillotine. It looks dangerous early, but Trevino is able to pull free and set up in guard. Trevino turns for the arm in the closing seconds but can’t get it. Round ends, and We gives the first to Case, 10-9.
Round 2 – Trevino kicks the legs to start. Case again moving forward. Trevino asking for more aggression, and Case is smiling and talking to him. Trevino misses a leaping elbow. Case the aggressor. He catches a kick, and Trevino falls back but pops back up. They clinch, and Case scores an inside trip and drives Trevino to the floor. Trevino tries to attack the arm, but Case spins through it. He moves quickly to the back, but Trevino keeps the choke from coming in. He turns and spins and tries to work free, but Trevino can’t get free. He battles away from a guillotine and then an armbar before getting top position. Once there, Case gets wrist control and crawls back to the feet. Case the quicker right on the feet. He kicks the legs and then drives forward for another takedown. Trevino gets to a seated position, but Case steps around, looking for the back. Trevino does a good job of scrambling, but he can’t ever get a dominant position. They end in the clinch, and the crowd boos at the bell.We gives it to Case, 10-9.
Round 3 – Case works the jab to start. Trevino looking to retreat and counter. He’s throwing, but Case is the one landing. Case wants a takedown, but Trevino defends well. Crowd restless. Trevino scores with a glancing front kick to the face. Case walking forward, and he tees off with a right hand. Trevino can’t get any sustained offense together. Case using his reach well, and he drives forward for another takedown. Trevino works to guard and drives in a few elbows, but Case is controlling from the top. Trevino rolls to try and get free, but Case settles on to his back. Trevino turns again and nearly leaves his arm behind as the move to the feet. Trevino slips out of a guillotine, as well. They reset on the feet in the final minute, but there’s just not much there.WE gives the final round to Case, 10-9, and awards him the fight 30-27.

Alejandro Perez (15-6 MMA, 1-1 UFC) vs. Patrick Williams (8-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC)

Round 1 – Williams with an early right hand, and Perez is hurt. He scores again, and Perez is on the floor. Williams immediately grabs the guillotine and squeezes. Perez trying to get free, but he’s trapped. Williams vicious with the torque, and Perez goes to sleep.

Drew Dober (15-7 MMA, 1-3 UFC) vs. Efrain Escudero (24-9 MMA, 5-5 UFC)

Round 1 – Dober moving side to side. Both fire kicks, but Dober slips. Escudero grabs the guillotine, squeezing from a standing position. He tries to arch his back and get the finish. Dober trying hard to survive, but Escudero continues the squeeze. He won’t let go, and Dober finally has to tap.

Chico Camus (14-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) vs. Henry Cejudo (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC)

Round 1 – Cejudo quickly out with a jab He kicks the body, but Camus counters over the top. Camus very quick to open, and he’s looking to counter. Cejudo game to box for now. However, when Camus comes forward, Cejudo moves into the clinch and pushes him against the cage. Camus gets his arms inside and pushes him away, and they start in the center. Camus lands a counter over top of a kick. Both men throwing combinations. Cejudo drops for a takedown, but Camus defends it and backs to the cage. Cejudo can’t get the takedown, but Camus pulls free. Camus trading right now. Cejudo continues to tease the takedown, but Camus defends well. Camus rattles off punches, including a nice right hand. Cejudo battles back and scores with a clean left. Cejudo again moves into the clinch. Camus comfortable, and referee Mario Yamasaki has to step in. Camus pushes him away, and Yamasaki gives a warning. Cejudo quickly back inside, but he absolutely can’t get the takedown. He does land a clean left. Round ends against the fence, and We gives it to Cejudo, 10-9.
Round 2 –The fighters trade in the center, and Camus again defends a takedown. Cejudo fires kicks, and Camus answers with punches. Cejudo lands a clean right hand. He’s having success on the feet. Camus countering, as well. Back into the clinch, but Cejudo still can’t get the takedown. Camus scoots away and again looks to trade. He’s throwing power shots, but Cejudo matching him on the feet. Camus with a right hand and a clean jab. Cejudo still looking for a takedown but can’t get Camus to the floor. Foot stomps for Cejudo. Both men firing punches in the pocket. Cejudo again pushes the action against the cage. Short knees inside. Camus showing excellent takedown defense, but Cejudo busier on the feet, too. Cejudo kicks the legs. Camus trying to come alive late. Round ends on the feet, and We gives it to Cejudo, 10-9.

Round 3 – Quick start to the third, and both men land punches. Cejudo kicks the body, and Camus answers over the top. Cejudo lands a few cracking punches before looking for a takedown. Camus again defends well. Camus complains of an eye poke, and he gets a brief rest. Referee Mario Yamasaki didn’t see it at first, but Cejudo stepped back. Quikc again on the restart. Cejudo trying to change levels and drive in big shots. They move again into the clinch. Cejudo backs away and throws a few big hooks. Cejudo complains of another poke, but we fight on. Cejudo with knees inside. The action is close, but Cejudo just always seems to have a slight edge. Camus now pressing and looking for a takedown. Cejudo easily stuffs it. They back away before Cejudo again presses to the fence. Battle for position against the cage. Camus gets away in the final minute. He lands a clean right. Cejudo finally gets Camus off-balance and on to the floor. He kicks the body and then goes to top position. He backs away in the final seconds. They finish on the feet. Wegives Cejudo the round, 10-9, and awards him the fight 30-27.

Angela Hill (2-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) vs. Tecia Torres (6-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC)

Round 1 – Hill pumps a jab, trying to utilize her reach. Torres moving well and kicks the leg. Hill stalking and trying to cut off the cage. Torres flurries with punches and then moves back out of range. Hill throwing looping rights. Torres tries to drive forward for the takedown. Hill defends against the cage. Knees inside for Torres. Hill spins off the cage. They battle in the clinch. Nothing there, so Torres backs away. Hill quickly pursues and looks to strike, but Torres drops levels and scores the takedown. Torres in top position. Hill tries to keep things tight, but Torres gets some space and lifts up to punch. Half-guard for Hill, and Torres can’t get her leg free. Hill recovers to full guard, but she’s spending a lot of time on her back. Torres postures and punches to close. We gives Torres the round, 10-9.
Round 2 – Hill again looking to cut off the cage and strike. Torres with a kick to the body, but Hill answers over the top. Hill has the range, but Torres has the grappling, and she drives in and scores the takedown, falling into side control. Hill recovers to half-guard. She’s just holding tight and hoping for a stand-up. Torres trying to work free and advance to mount but has to settle for just punching the body a bit. Torres finally gets her legs free and advances to side control halfway through the round. Hill trying to pull free. Torres briefly advances to mount, but Hill recovers half-guard. Torres not doing much damage on top, but she’s also absolutely dominating the positioning. Still, not enough happening, and referee John McCarthy calls for a restart. Hill moves into the clinch as they start, and they battle against the cage. Short strikes traded. Round ends there, and We gives it to Torres, 10-9.
Round 3 – Torres kicks the legs to open. Hill still wants to strike. She lands a few clean hooks, but Torres is quick and mobile and able to move away and reset. Torres wants a takedown, but it won’t come. Hill stalking, and Torres falls short on another takedown. Hill needs to take advantage of her time on the feet. Torres looks to be fading a bit. Torres moves into the clinch. Not much there. THey battle and battle for position, but Hill is staying on her feet. McCarthy eventually breaks them apart. Torres quickly back inside looking for the takedown. Hill defends and peppers her with short punches. Crowd doesn’t like the strategy. Round ends on the feet. We gives the final round to Hill, 10-9, but awards Torres the fight, 29-28.

Yair Rodriguez (4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Charles Rosa (10-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC)

Round 1 – Rosa takes the center and misses on an early low kick. Rodriguez lands a flashy spinning high kick. Rosa slips on a kick, but he recovers. Rodriguez leaps forward with a flying knee. It doesn’t land, but it does create a scramble. As Rodriguez falls to the floor, he sets up the triangle choke. It’s not there to start, but Rodriguez continues to adjust and squeeze. Rosa battling while being deep in the triangle. Rodriguez finally has to let go of the choke. Rosa battles past the legs and looks to punch. Rodriguez turns to his knees. Rosa gets one hook in as he tries to take the back. Rodriguez battling the wrists and looking to prevent a choke attempt. He’s also using the fence to keep Rosa from getting completely on the back. Rodriguez finally turns in, but Rosa just slams him to the floor and looks to punch away. Rosa turns for a kneebar, but that lets both me get to their feet. Rodriguez lands a right hand, and Rosa loses his mouthpiece. Referee Mario Yamasaki calls for a pause to put it back in, and the crowd boos. Busy on the restart in the final seconds. Great round, and we gives it to Rodriguez, 10-9.
Round 2 – Rodriguez works the legs to start. He scores with a side kick to the neck and moves to reset. Rosa looking to pressure with punches. Rodriguez with a spinning kick to the body. Rosa looks tired. He drives in for a takedown, but it’s not there. He does score with a clean left hand. Rosa walking forward, changing levels and looking to strike.He gets in on a takedown but can’t pull it off. Rodriguez retreating and countering. Rosa looks for a takedown, but Rodriguez with a reversal to top position. Still, he back away. Rosa cut on his head, and the blood is running down his face. He wipes it away and realize he better get busy. Rodriguez with a few short elbows inside as they clinch, and the blood flow is increasing. Yamasaki calls for time to take a better look, but we fight on. Rosa desperate for the takedown, but he can’t get it. He’s the aggressor, but Rodriguez is the one landing with his strikes. Rodriguez just misses on a high kick. Rosa scores with a punch and dives at the legs. Rodriguez easily pull away. Rosa finally gets the takedown, but Rodriguez rolls to the top and delivers a few elbows before the bell. we gives Rodriguez the round, 10-9.


Round 3 – There’s a glove touch for the final round. Rodriguez jabs, but Rosa fires a solid right over the top. He follows with a right leg kick, then presses forward with a combination, then goes after a single. He gets it and falls into Rodriguez’s guard. Rodriguez tries to stay offensive from his back and lands some elbows against the bleeding Rosa. Rosa tries to pass, but can’t get there. He postures up and tries to drop a few punches, but falls back in when he can’t pass guard. He drops a solid elbow in, then some left hands as he postures up again. Rodriguez tries for a triangle and it looks decent. He lands elbows against Rosa, then short punches. Rosa being slippery from the blood helps him slip it, though. He stays on top, and Rodriguez gives his back. He may have tired out. Rosa steps over and looks for a choke. He loses the position with two minutes left, though, and Rodriguez gets back to his feet and invites Rosa to stand back up. Thirty seconds later, he gets another takedown, then steps over to side control with about 80 seconds left. Rodriguez again does good defensive work and gets back to guard. He’s not going to win any points for that, but at least he’s out of danger. Rosa tries to drop down a massive elbow and just misses. He tries some hammerfists with 30 seconds left, but he can’t quite get out of Rodriguez’s guard. He’ll finish the fight on top dropping punches. Rosa wins the final round 10-9, but it should be Rodriguez with the fight, 29-28.

Kelvin Gastelum (10-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) vs. Nate Marquardt (33-14-2 MMA, 11-7 MMA)

Round 1 – Marquardt circles on the outside as Gastelum looks to punch early. Marquardt leaps in with a right hand that just misses. Gastelum answers with a flurry of shots. Gastelum kicks the body. He looks very confident. Gastelum with a left hand and then an uppercut. Marquardt battles through it, but he’s taking some damage. Gastelum with a jab and a left that snap Marquardt’s head back. Marquardt answering, and they trade punches. Marquardt’s nose reddened from the early work. Gastelum picking his shots. They move into the clinch, but nothing there, so they reset. Marquardt gets inside and just misses a big right. He digs to the body. They briefly hit the canvas but pop back up. Gastelum takes it down again, and he gets top position. Marquardt turns to his knees. He controls the wrist in hopes of getting up, which he finally does. Gastelum with a big uppercut that scores, and Marquardt is hurt. Gastelum running out of time, but he tees off until the bell.We  gives it to Gastelum, 10-9.
Round 2 – Gastelum kicks the leg to start. Marquardt misses on a big right. Marquardt trying to make something happen, but Gastelum simply dancing on the outside and picking his opponent apart. In and out of range for Gastelum. Marquardt lacing big punches out there, but he’s not setting them up, and Gastelum is avoiding. Gastelum goes to the body. He fires in a knee. Marquardt goes to the floor, and Gastelum is all over him with punches. Marquardt trying to get back to his feet. Gastelum in top position and raining down punches. Marquardt picks the leg, and Gastelum backs away. On the feet, Gastelum controls the neck, and Marquardt drops to the canvas to stay safe. Marquardt kneeling, and Gastelum punching from the back. Marquardt refusing to give up the choke. He tries to sweep but winds up on the bottom, with Gastelum in his card. Marquardt turns again. He’s not getting any space at all. Gastelum smothering him and sneaking in punches when he can. Marquardt controlling the wrist, and he does land a sneaky back elbow before rolling for a leg lock. Gasteluum rolls through it. Gastelum backs away at the bell, and we gives him the round, 10-8.
Marquardt can’t answer the bell for round three, so this fight is over.

Eddie Alvarez (25-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) vs. Gilbert Melendez (22-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC)



Round 1 – Alvarez out quickly and over to the other side of the cage. Melendez pumps his jab. Alvarez misses a big hook up top. Melendez changing levels as he looks for openings. Alvarez uppercut answered with a huge counter that rocks him. Alvarez swings back and lands, and they settle after the crazy exchange. Alvarez kicks the legs and just avoids the counter. Melendez the one walking forward. He scores with a right. Alvarez showing some power, but he’s hesitating a bit. Alvarez with a left hand that partially lands. Melendez in with an uppercut, but Alvarez swings back. It’s a tentative pace, but both men are throwing big leather when they score. Crowd getting a bit restless. Alvarez’s left eye closing. Melendez starting to work the jab a bit more. Alvarez kicks the legs. Round ends on the feet.We gives the first to Melendez, 10-9.

Round 2 – Alvarez’s eye is really going to be an issue. He seems energized on the start. Melendez looking to pick him apart. Alvarez trying to get inside and land, but he can’t quite get there. Alvarez does score with a leaping left. Alvarez decides to shoot inside, but Melendez defends against the cage. Alvarez knee lands to the groin, and Melendez takes a quick break. Alvarez warned, and we fight on. Alvarez with a right hand on the restart. Alvarez kicks the legs. Crowd wants them to pick it up a bit. Melendez shoots in, but Alvarez pushes him aside. Melendez scores with a jab. Alvarez kicks the legs, and the crowd is begging for them to explode. Melendez does land a right hand. Alvarez pushes for the takedown. He briefly gets the back, but Melendez turns inside and peppers in a few punches to the body. Alvarez grinding for the takedown, and he does finally drag the action to the floor. Melendez quickly spins and gets back to his feet. Elbow for Alvarez at the end as he backs away. Bell sounds, and we gives it to Alvarez, 10-9.

Round 3 – Alvarez comes out looking to strike and then drives inside for a takedown. Melendez defends against the cage. Melendez throws shot punches to the body, but Alvarez lifts him off his feet and drags him to the floor. Melendez gets to a knee and then his feet. Alvarez grinding from the outside. He eventually backs away. Melendez stuffs another takedown. Melendez misses a left and takes a deep breath. Alvarez with a right hand and then slips the counter. Three minutes left. Alvarez kicks the legs. Alvarez in on a takedown. He controls from the head in a scramble, but Melendez crawls up to his feet. Alvarez wraps the body and presses inside. Melendez tries to work in short punches. Alvarez drags him again to the floor. Melendez gets up and pulls away with a little more than a minute. Melendez trying to rally. Alvarez kicks the legs. Deep breaths fro Melendez. They trade punches in the closing seconds. Alvarez with a kick, and he lands a spinning elbow. Melendez bleeding from the forehead. Big punches to close. We gives the final round to Alvarez, 10-9, awarding him the fight 29-28.

Cain Velasquez (13-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) vs. Fabricio Werdum (19-5-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC)

Round 1 – The fighters pass on a glove touch. Velasquez opens with a low kick, but Werdum counters over the top. Werdum slips on a kick, but Velasquez declines to follow him to the floor. Velasquez does have some redness by his left eye. He walks forward and into the clinch. He backs away and lands a few solid punches. Werdum is answering with big shots, but not nearly the volume. Werdum does hook a leg and get a takedown, but Velasquez crawls immediately back to his feet. Eventually, he backs away. Werdum scores wot the legs, but Velasquez answers with punches. Leaping knee from Werdum stuffed. Velasquez definitely taking some damage, but he’s getting the best of the entirety of the work. Velasquez catches a kick and dumps Werdum to the floor but doesn’t follow. Werdums cores with a jab, but Velasquez answers back with a flurry. Round ends on the feet, and we gives it to Velasquez, 10-9.
Round 2 – Velasquez kicks the legs to start. Werdum works in a nice left hand. Velasquez walking forward, but right now Werdum is absorbing the blows. Velasquez continues to focus on the legs, and Werdum is countering well over the top with punches. Velasquez bleeding, but he continues walking forward. Both men trading shots in the pocket. Velasquez is the one walking forward, and Werdum is taking a few deep breaths. Werdum with a knee. He lands three straight punches. Velasquez is hurt. He throws back, but Werdum is getting to him. Velasquez gets out of the pocket, but he was struggling. Big shots being thrown by both men. Velasquez squinting a bit, as the blood us running into his eyes. Werdum with a stiff uppercut. Werdum grabs a clinch and tries to wrap the neck, but Velasquez pulls away. Tense moments as both men are landing bombs. Velasquez continues to chop the legs. Velasquez actually looks to be tiring, as well. Still, he walks forward. Werdum’s left hand scores, and Velasquez wobbles again. Right hand lands. Big knee for Werdum. Velasquez is in trouble. He drops to a knee but crawls back to his feet. Round ends on the feet. Incredible action. We gives it to Werdum, 10-9.
Round 3 – Before we start, referee Herb Dean has the doctor look at Velasquez, but we carry on. Velasquez’s left eye is an absolute mess. Velasquez tries to kick the legs, but Werdum counters. Velasquez with the takedown. Werdum tries to sweep. Velasquez decides to kick the legs a bit before backing away. On the feet, Werdum’s jab continues to pop back Velasquez’s head. Crowd chanting fro Velasquez, trying to will him forward. He had a high kick blocked. Werdum wraps the neck and tries for a choke.He drives knees inside as Velasquez gets away. Blood again running down Velasquez’s face. Velasquez with another takedown, but he falls straight into a guillotine. Velasquez in his opponent’s guard, and he’s trapped. Werdum squeezes, and Velasquez taps out. Werdum is the undisputed champ.
