The Authority Could Remove Daniel Bryan From The Royal Rumble Match

daniel bryan vs triple h This past Monday on RAW, not only did Daniel Bryan announce that he’s going to be competing in the 2015 Royal Rumble match, but The Authority was put back into power by John Cena at the end of the show.

In Daniel Bryan’s return promo, he mentioned that there was nobody who cheered louder than he did when Dolph Ziggler pinned Seth Rollins back at Survivor Series, forcing The Authority out of power. Also, everybody knows that Bryan was involved in an eight-month long storyline with The Authority leading up to his WWE championship win at WrestleMania 30. So, The Authority could pick up right where they left off and remove Daniel Bryan from the Royal Rumble match.

The idea of The Authority removing Daniel Bryan from the Royal Rumble match was brought up by Bryan Alvarez on today’s Figure Four Daily. Alvarez said that WWE could ultimately decide to have The Authority pull Daniel Bryan from the Rumble match, further delaying his in-ring return. However, Alvarez said that it’s highly unlikely that WWE will do that.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is somewhat shocked that WWE is deciding to bring Bryan back for the Rumble match, saying that WWE better have Bryan win, and go on to WrestleMania to compete for the WWE championship. Meltzer also noted that if WWE decides to not have Bryan win, they better have a heel win in his place, because it’s almost a guarantee that the fans will turn on any other babyface that wins the match.

Because of the fact that the fans may hate anyone other than Daniel Bryan winning theRoyal Rumble, WWE could end up pulling him from the match and holding his return off until after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

What would be the point of WWE having Daniel Bryan come back and announce that he’s going to be competing in the Royal Rumble if they’re just going to remove him from the match shortly thereafter? Well, there’s not really a good answer. Maybe they feel like they need to get more heat on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, but that’s unlikely. It could be that WWE was just trying to create some short-term buzz and get more eyes on next week’sRAW show, where the rumored “big angle” will be taking place.

It’s highly unlikely that WWE will have The Authority remove Daniel Bryan from the Royal Rumble match – however, it’s a possibility. But when all is said and done, expect Daniel Bryan to be in the 2015 Royal Rumble.
