El Patron – former WWE Superstar Alberto del Rio – appeared at a press conference for AAA’s Ring & Rockstars event at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera. He announced that he will be teaming with La Parka and Myzteziz – former WWE Superstar Sin Cara – in a big tag team match at the show on September 14, facing off against Texano, Jr., Averno and El Hijo del Perro Arguayo.
More importantly, the former world champion stated that with the help of lawyers, and support of AAA, he is now free to wrestle “without any problems” for the promotion. He claims it is unconstitutional to not be allowed to work.
The state of Alberto del Rio’s current non-compete contract with WWE isn’t completely clear. For instance, he may be cleared to wrestle in Mexico but not in the United States. We will continue to update his status if any new information becomes available.
