Bobby Lashley Won Bellator MMA fight At His First Night

TNA Champion Bobby Lashley defeated Josh Burns in the second round of Friday's Bellator 123 event that was broadcast on Spike TV. Lashley took Burns down early in round one and was unable to put him away with a few submission hold attempts, but he did bloody him with several punches and elbows.
Lashley threw some punches in round two and eventually took Burns down again and continued with the ground and pound. Burns rolled over and when he tried to get up, Lashley caught him in a rear naked choke and got the submission win.

Lashley's current reign as TNA Champion was mentioned several times and footage of him wrestling in TNA was shown before the fight. Lashley stated in a pre-fight interview that he had a lot to lose because he's the TNA Champion. Lashley was dominant throughout the fight. Burns had an 8-7 record coming into the fight, so this win isn't going to impress too many people in the MMA world. That said, it sure beats the alternative of losing to a fighter of Burns' caliber while holding the TNA Championship.
