It's been reported that WWE officials were planning on keeping Daniel Bryan out of the ring until the 30-man Royal Rumble main event later this month.
Bryan is now being advertised to wrestle Kane at the January 16th WWE live event in St. Louis. The Scottrade Center website lists the following for that Friday night live event:

Roman Reigns vs. The Big Show
Daniel Bryan vs. Kane
Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt
