Daron Cruickshank vs. James Krause slated for UFC on FOX 16 in Chicago

ufc 186A lightweight fight between Daron Cruickshank (16-6 MMA, 6-4 UFC) and James Krause (21-7 MMA, 2-3 UFC) has joined July’s UFC on FOX 16 lineup.
UFC officials today announced the fight.
Featuring a bantamweight title fight between current champ T.J. Dillashaw and former titleholder Renan Barao, UFC on FOX 16 takes place July 25 at Chicago’s United Center. The main card airs on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
It’s not clear where Cruickshank vs. Krause will be placed on the lineup.
Cruickshank, a 29-year-old who first joined the UFC after a brief run on “The Ultimate Fighter 15,” has struggled with consistency during an 11-fight UFC career. After a 3-1 run that included wins over Erik Koch and Anthony Njokuani, “The Detroit Superstar” fought K.J. Noons to a no-contest (accidental eye-poke) and suffered a submission loss to Beneil Dariush in his two most recent appearances.
He now meets Krause, who’s struggled since a big UFC debut in which he submitted Sam Stout and earned a pair of fight-night bonuses worth $100,000. The 28-year-old is just 1-3 since then with back-to-back decision losses to Jorge Masvidal and Valmir Lazaro in his two most recent appearances.
With the addition to the card, UFC on FOX 16 now includes:
  • Champ T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao – for bantamweight title
  • Myles Jury vs. Anthony Pettis
  • Jessica Eye vs. Miesha Tate
  • Erik Koch vs. Ramsey Nijem
  • Danny Castillo vs. Rustam Khabilov
  • Takanori Gomi vs. Joe Lauzon
  • Zak Cummings vs. Antonio Braga Neto
  • Daron Cruickshank vs. James Krause
